2023 18th Annual Veterans Day “Hoist”

We are honored this year to present CAPT Terry Magee USN (RET), as our Guest Speaker.

Captain Magee’s background of service is exemplary. Here are but a “few” of his accomplishments and commitments over his 50+ years of service:

– As a Naval Aviator, amassed over 6000 flight hours and 1000 landings supporting fleet operations around the globe.
– Commanding Officer of VAW-110, the E-2 and C-2 replacement squadron, leading 150 officers and 700 enlisted in training for manning the 12 Air Wing and 12 carriers.
– Commanding Officer of the Amphibious Ship Duluth (LPD-6) which had a crew of 800 and carried a complement of 1100 Marines.
– Commanding Officer of the Aircraft Carrier the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) with a crew of ~ 5,000.
– Plank owner and a Director of the USS Midway Museum, he has been instrumental in the most successful ship Museum in the United States.
– Past President & Chairman of the Board of the VAW VRC Foundation.
– Member of the Support The Enlisted Project (STEP) board, accruing over 200 volunteer hours annually.
– Member of the Board of Directors for the San Diego Military Advisory Council (SDMAC).
– Numerous corporate positions including five years as a Vice President for Lockheed Martin.

Captain Magee’s perspective on service and our Veterans that he holds so dear will truly meet the mission of The Hoist. We hope that you will attend and be a valuable part of our ceremony and event.
